Moore, Sally Falk

(1924– ) cultural anthropologist; born in New York City. She graduated from Barnard College in 1943 and received a Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1957. She taught at the University of Southern California and the University of California: Los Angeles before joining the Harvard faculty in 1981. She served as dean of Harvard's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (1985–89). Among other works, she wrote Power and Property in Peru (1958) and Social Facts and Fabrications (1986).
