Novoukrainka

a city (since 1938) and administrative center of Novoukrainka Raion, Kirovograd Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the Chernyi Tashlyk River of the Iuzhnyi Bug River basin. Railroad station on the Pomoshnaia-Znamenka line. Population, 21,000 (1974). Novoukrainka has a gravel factory, a brickyard, a sugar-refining plant, a cheese plant, a grain-products combine, a furniture factory, and other enterprises. A branch of the Kirovograd Music and Drama Theater is in Novoukrainka. A fruit-tree nursery is located nearby.
