Location:6 miles east of Oskaloosa, off IA 371.
Facilities:65 campsites (41 with electrical hookups), modern showers and restroomsin campground, group camping area, day-use lodge, open picnic shelters(é), multi-use trails, swimming beach, fishing jetty (é), 2 boatramps, 83-acre man-made lake.
Activities:Camping, swimming, fishing, boating (electric motors only), hiking, snowmobiling, ice fishing.
Special Features:Though it sounds like an Indian word, the name "Keomah" is actuallyderived from the first syllables of the two counties that originallyhelped finance the park, Keokuk and Mahaska. The park was dedicated in1934, and many of the its facilities were built by the CivilianConservation Corps.
