LYN
LYN A gene on chromosome 8q13 that encodes a non-receptor tyrosine-protein kinase, which transmits signals from cell surface receptors and plays a central role in regulating innate and adaptive immune responses, haematopoiesis and erythroid differentiation, responses to growth factors and cytokines, integrin signalling, and responses to DNA damage and genotoxic agents. LYN is primarily a downregulator but, depending on the context, also upregulates some pathways.LYN
