Established: 1992.
Location:Along the northern New Hampshire-Maine border.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, viewing sites, intrepretive trail (é).
Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting.
Special Features:In 1979 the Secretary of the Interior designated part of the wetlands at Harper's Meadow a National Natural Landmark, recognizing the floating bog and wetlands as a significant natural area.
Habitats: Includes 8,500-acre Lake Umbagog and 16,300 acres of forests, wetlands, and rivers
Access: Trail open year round, dawn to dusk.
Wild life: Bald eagle, peregrine falcon, black duck, scaups, scoters, northern harrier, woodcock, woodchuck, coyote, bear and moose.
