(lī'sō-kī'nās), Term for activator agents (for example, streptokinase, urokinase, staphylokinase) that produce plasmin by indirect or multiple-stage action on plasminogen.

(1) An obsolete term for any enzyme (e.g., streptokinase, urokinase) capable of acting on plasminogen to generate plasmin. 
(2) t-Plasminogen activator (see there), EC 3.4.21.68.
