Mishchenko, Evgenii Frolovich

 

Born Mar. 9, 1922, in Moscow Soviet mathematician. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1974). Member of the CPSU since 1942.

Mishchenko graduated from Moscow State University in 1951. He became a professor at the Moscow Physicotechnical Institute in 1959. In 1951 he joined the staff of the V. A. Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. His principal works deal with ordinary differential equations and their applications to the theory of vibrations and control theory.

Mishchenko received the Lenin Prize in 1962 and has been awarded two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the Red Star, and various medals.
