Macarthur and Forest cyanide process

[mə′kär·thər ən ′fär·əst ′sī·ə‚nīd ‚präs·əs] (metallurgy) A process for recovering gold by leaching the pulped gold ore with a solution of 0.2-0.8% potassium cyanide and next with water; the gold is then obtained by precipitation on zinc or aluminum or by electrolysis.
