One of philosopher John Stuart Mills’ five methods of induction, intended to illustrate the concept of causation. The method of concomitant variations states: “whatever phenomenon varies in any manner whenever another phenomenon varies in some particular manner, is either a cause or an effect of that phenomenon, or is causally connected to it.”
