Motorchuna

 

a river in the Yakut ASSR; left tributary of the Lena River. It is 423 km long and drains an area of 9,250 sq km. The Motorchuna River rises and flows along the northeastern edge of the Middle Siberian Plateau; in its lower course it traverses a lowland. The river is fed by snow and rain. Spring high water occurs in late May and in June; the rains cause freshets in July and August. The Motorchuna River freezes completely to the bottom in the winter.
