Literatura un Māksla

(Literature and Art), a Soviet Latvian newspaper; organ of the creative unions of the Latvian SSR. It has appeared weekly in Riga since March 1945. Its predecessor was the newspaper Literatūras avīze (Literary Newspaper, 1940–41), which ceased publication as a result of the fascist occupation of Latvia. Literatūra un māksla treats questions of literature and art, publishes literary works, and gives information about cultural life in the USSR and abroad.
