Motor Transport Troops

specialized troops trained for movement of ammunition, fuel, food supplies, and other material goods needed to carry out military operations and also for evacuation of the wounded and sick and of equipment. In addition, motor transport troops can convey troops who do not have their own vehicular transportation. The force consists of vehicular subunits and units included organizationally in the makeup of combined-arms units and formations, as well as of units and formations of various combat arms. They also appear as independent motor transport units.
