outline fontn. A computer font in which each character to be displayed or printed is represented as a series of curves and lines. Outline fonts are smoothed and scaled more easily than bitmapped fonts.outline font n (Computer Science) computing a font format that makes use of fillable geometric outlines of letters and symbols, allowing fonts to be scaled up or down while still retaining their intended shape. The result of transforming acharacter in an outline font in a particular way is oftensaved as a bitmap in a font cache to avoid repeating thecalculations if that character is to be drawn again.outline fontA type of font made from basic outlines of each character.
