Chronic diarrhoea induced by ingestion of excess magnesium, either from antacids (e.g., Maalox, Mylanta) or in the diet. In one study, excess magnesium was the sole cause of chronic diarrhoea in 4.2% of 359 patients.

Faecal quantification.
