Location:Beside the Tennessee River, north of US 412, in the western valley.
Facilities:24 campsites (19 with water and electricity hookups), backcountry campsites, picnic areas, pavilion, hiking trail, bike path, boat launch, fishing pier, beach, visitor center, archery range, game courts, playground.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, water-skiing, swimming, hiking, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Tradition has it that Mousetail Landing got its name during the Civil War period when one of the area's tanning companies caught fire. The exodus of mice fleeing the burning building was so profuse that the area became known as Mousetail Landing.
