Zagorodnikov, Nikolai Ivanovich

 

Born Mar. 22, 1918, in the village of Lamki, in what is now Tambov Oblast. Soviet scholar, specialist in criminal law; doctor of jurisprudence since 1962, professor since 1963, Honored Scholar of the RSFSR since 1971. Member of the CPSU since 1945.

Zagorodnikov’s scholarly and teaching career began in 1948. He is the author of works on the theory of Soviet law, on socialist legality, and on some special problems of criminal law, including Crimes Against Life According to Soviet Criminal Law (1961) and Crimes Against Health (1969).
