Overhang Trim

(in Russian podzor), an architectural element used to trim overhangs. Trims usually consist of carved wooden boards or openwork; some consist of open-worked metal strips. The vestry of the Great Cathedral of the Don Monastery in Moscow is characterized by overhang trim, executed by architect V. Obukhov in 1748.
