Pokrovskoe

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Pokrovskoe Raion, Dnepropetrovsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located on the right bank of the Volch’ia River (Dnieper River basin). Railroad station (Mechetnaia) on the Chaplino-Pologi line. Population, 9,700 (1974).

Pokrovskoe has a silica brickyard and a foodstuffs factory, as well as a poultry hatchery. A museum of history and local lore is in the settlement.
