释义 | pacerpac·erP0002600 (pā′sər)pacer(ˈpeɪsə)pac•er(ˈpeɪ sər)n.
PacerPacera horse whose natural gait is a pace; both harness and saddle horses can be pacers. A horse at a pace has less tractive force than at a trot; therefore it is more suitable for drawing light carriages (sulkies or sleighs) than for drawing a heavy load. In racing in the USSR it is considered poor form for a trotter to lapse into a pace. In the USA pacers compete in races and are faster and more spirited than trotters. They are comfortable riding horses over long distances. With a rider they can cover 10 km an hour and as much as 120 km in a 24-hour period. They are not well suited to changing gaits. PACER
