Ust’-Khantaika Reservoir

 

a reservoir formed by the dam of the Ust’-Khantaika Hydroelectric Power Plant on the Khantaika River. The reservoir was filled between 1970 and 1975. It has an area of 1,561 sq km, of which Lake Khantaiskoe occupies 822 sq km and Lake Maloe Khantaiskoe occupies 58 sq km. It has a volume of 23.5 cu km, a length of 160 km, and a maximum width of 9 km. The average depth is 15 m, and the maximum, 56 m. The water level fluctuates by 13 m. The reservoir carries out long-term regulation of flow.
