Thorrabl—t Thorrabl—t (Thorri Banquet)FebruaryThorrablóts, which are held in February in towns throughout Iceland, are midwinter feasts featuring traditional Icelandic foods and beverages that may be repugnant to visitors with nonadventurous taste buds. The fare includes hákarl (a gamey shark); ram's testicles; lundi (broiled puffin birds); blódmör (sheep's blood pudding); and seal and whale meat. Dessert may be more palatable for non-natives: skyr, made from curd and dried wild crowberries. The locals wash everything down with a schnapps nicknamed "black death." Live music and dancing accompanies the feasting.
