pancreas divisum

a bifid, or divided, pancreas resulting from a congenital failure of the embryonic primordia to unite completely; each of the portions has its own duct.

pancreas divisum

A congenital anomaly in which the dorsal and ventral pancreatic ducts fail to unite during embryonic development. It has been associated with pancreatitis. See also: pancreas
