Uly-Zhylanshyk
(also Dzhilenchik), a river in Turgai Oblast, Kazakh SSR. The Uly-Zhylanshyk is 227 km long and drains an area of 26,100 sq km. It is formed by the confluence of the Duly galy-Zhylanshyk and Ul’ken-Zhylanshyk rivers, which rise in the Ulutau Mountains in the Kazakh Melkosopochnik. It empties into Lake Akkol’, which has no outlet. Fed primarily by snow, the river is used for irrigation.
