Pangani

a river in Tanzania, in East Africa. It is 400 km long. Originating on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, it flows into the Indian Ocean. The Pangani has many rapids. Freshets occur during the summer rainy season, which lasts from November through April. The river is navigable to a distance of 40 km from the mouth, near which the city of Pangani is located.
