Seed Sorter

Seed Sorter

(spiral separator), a machine for separating seeds from admixtures of substances of different forms and surface properties. A seed sorter consists of several interior spiral troughs of the same diameter and an outer trough of larger diameter. The grain mixture is sorted out by the effect of centrifugal force: smooth and round seeds move more rapidly and pass from the inner troughs to the outer one while flat and rough seeds are held back in the inner troughs. A seed sorter can handle from 75 to 150 kg per hour.
