Rand Show

Rand Show

March-April; during the Easter seasonAlso known as the Rand Easter Show, the Rand Show was founded in 1895. This South African industrial, commercial, and agricultural show is similar to what a huge state fair is like in the United States. The Rand Show was sponsored by the Witwatersrand Agricultural Society, but has been owned by Kagiso Media since 1999. It is considered to be the most important event of its kind in South Africa. It features agricultural, industrial, and livestock exhibitions, equestrian shows, live entertainment, and an amusement park. The most popular feature is the consumer goods display. Hundreds of thousands of people attend the Rand Show each year, which is held at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg.
