[′rōd·ə·rē ¦disk ′kän‚tak·tər] (chemical engineering) Liquid-liquid contactor, having a vertical cylindrical shell with vertical rotating shaft upon which are mounted a spaced series of flat disks; spinning of the disks forces liquid into shell-mounted baffles, causing mixing; used for liquid-liquid extraction processes. Also known as RDC extractor.
