rotation camera

[rō′tā·shən ‚kam·rə] (solid-state physics) An instrument for studying crystalline structure by x-ray or neutron diffraction, in which a monochromatic, collimated beam of x-rays or neutrons falls on a single crystal which is rotated about an axis perpendicular to the beam and parallel to one of the crystal axes, and the various diffracted beams are registered on a cylindrical film concentric with the axis of rotation.
