Neurology A peripheral neuropathy characterized by ↓ movement or sensation, due to nerve damage; SP is a systemic process that damages nerves, with loss of myelin, which slows neural conduction or damages neurons, especially the axon, blocking conduction at the point of damage–pressure on nerves, inflammation, ↓ blood flow, connective tissue disorders, idiopathic, alcoholic neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, chronic inflammatory neuropathy, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and drug-induced neuropathy.
