Stabilization of Polymers

Stabilization of Polymers

a means of improving the resistance of polymers to aging by using substances (stabilizers) capable of inhibiting the aging process. The choice of substance, which is introduced into the polymer during synthesis or processing, is governed by the mechanism of the reactions causing the aging. As a result of stabilization, the rate of aging of polymers can sometimes be reduced by a factor of more than 10.
