Uvarovo

a city (since 1966) under oblast jurisdiction and administrative center of Uvarovo Raion, Tambov Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the right bank of the Vorona River (Don River basin). Railroad station (Oblovka) on the Tambov-Balashov line, 117 km southeast of Tambov. Population, 32,400 (1976). Uvarovo has plants for the production of sulfuric acid and mineral fertilizers, a sugar refinery, two butter factories, and a brickyard.
