Ryl’ke, Stanislav Danilovich

 

Born May 8 (20), 1843, in Volyn’ Province; died Apr. 4 (16), 1899, in Warsaw. Russian geodesist and astronomer.

Ryl’ke is known as the author of works on problems in terrestrial refraction and leveling. In 1898 he proposed an original theory of terrestrial refraction that allowed for the perturbing thermal effect of soil.
