Absolute Idea
Absolute Idea
one of the main concepts in philosophic systems of objective idealism. For example, in Hegel’s system the concept of the absolute idea expresses the ultimate synthesis, the fundamental principle of reality; nature and spirit appear as different forms of the existence of the absolute idea, as its other being, and consequently are derived from it. In neo-Hegelianism and absolute idealism the concept of the absolute idea is less broad in content and expresses merely absolutized thought.
