prognostic chart

[präg′näs·tik ¦chärt] (meteorology) A chart showing, principally, the expected pressure pattern (or height pattern) of a given synoptic chart at a specified future time; usually, positions of fronts are also included, and the forecast values of other meteorological elements may be superimposed.

prognostic chart

A forecast of a specified meteorological element(s) for a specified time or period and a specified surface or portion of airspace, depicted graphically on a chart (ICAO).
