(tä'räwâr`ə), volcanic peak, 3,646 ft (1,111 m) high, on the North Island, New Zealand, in RotoruaRotorua, city (1996 pop. 52,953), central North Island, New Zealand. It is a popular tourist area with nearby lakes and hot springs. The area is also important for timber and agriculture.
