American Federation of Television and Radio Artists
A labor union for American journalists, actors, and others who are broadcast on radio or television. It lobbies and negotiates contracts for better pay and working conditions; it also advocates for members in the event of a lawsuit. It was established in 1937 and is based in New York and Los Angeles. It is affiliated with the AFL-CIO.
