personalisation

personalisation

A term which focuses on factors specific to an individual, who is best placed to assess his or her own needs. Personalisation of healthcare incorporates a person’s strengths, preferences, network of support (e.g., family and friends) and resources (e.g., personal funding sources or eligibility for state funding); it means that people can be responsible for themselves and make their own decisions about what they need, but that they also need information and support to enable them to do so.
