Saint Clement's Island State Park
Location:On the Potomac River, near Saint Clement's and Breton bays. Accessible only by boat.
Facilities:Picnic areas and shelters, hiking trails, portajohn.
Activities:Saltwater fishing, hiking, hunting. Boat tours to the island are offered on week-ends by the Potomac River Museum.
Special Features:On March 25, 1634, the first English settlers under the Baltimore proprietorship landed on Saint Clement's Island in the Ark and the Dove. The park contains a memorial cross dedicated to the memory of the first Marylanders.
