Sakharov's conditions

Sakharov's conditions

A set of three conditions in the early Universe that can explain the asymmetry between matter and antimatter. These conditions are: (1) there is some process in which baryon number is not conserved; (2) CP violation occurs; (3) the early Universe is not in a state of thermal equilibrium. These conditions were put forward by Andrei Sakharov in 1967 and implemented in the context of grand unified theories (see fundamental forces by a number of workers in the late 1970s.
