Petr Bozhenov

Bozhenov, Petr Ivanovich

 

Born June 29 (July 12), 1904, in Karachev, Orel Province. Soviet scientist in the field of technology of building materials. Doctor of technical sciences (1953). Honored Scientist and Engineer of the RSFSR (1965). Member of the CPSU since 1948.

Bozhenov graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1929. His principal works deal with the combined processing of mineral raw materials for the production of building materials. Bozhenov has developed new types of binding substances—nepheline cement and cement with a base of magnesium silicates. He won the Lenin Prize in 1962. Bozhenov has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and other orders, as well as medals.
