tradewinds

tradewinds

tradewindsThe winds blowing from the horse latitudes (30°N/30°S) to the doldrums (10°N/10°S). These winds tend to follow the pressure gradient directed toward the equator but are deflected to the right or left in each hemisphere, becoming northeast and southeast. Their average speed is 10 to 15 knots, and they attain their maximum speed in the summer months. The weather in the areas of tradewinds is generally fair.
