Titanophoneus
Titanophoneus
a genus of extinct reptiles of the super-family Titanosuchoidea, subclass Synapsida. Members of the genus were large predators measuring up to 3 m or more in length. The upper canine teeth were long and well developed, and the front part of the upper jaw was slightly raised. The body was elongate, with a long tail. A skeleton of Titanophoneus was found in Upper Permian deposits on the Volga, near the village of Isheevo in the Tatar ASSR.
