Vodnyi Transport

 

(Water Transport), the central newspaper of the water-transport workers, an organ of Ministry of the Maritime Fleet of the USSR, the Ministry of the River Fleet of the RSFSR, and the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of the Maritime and River Fleets. Founded in 1932. Vodnyi transport is published in Moscow three times a week. From July 1940 through January 1943 and from April 1943 through April 1953, newspapers were published separately for seamen (Morskoiflot) and for river workers (Rechnoi transport). In April 1953 a single newspaper for water-transport workers, Vodnyi transport, began coming out again. Circulation (1971), more than 120,000.
