Location:11 miles south of Blairsville via US 19/129.
Facilities:103 tent/trailer/RV campsites, 18 walk-in campsites, primitivebackpacking sites, pioneer campground, 35 cottages, 4 picnic shelters,group shelter, trails (17 miles), 20-acre lake, swimming beach, pedalboat rental, miniature golf course, CCC museum, general store.
Activities:Camping, pedal boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, backpacking.
Special Features:One of Georgia's oldest and most popular state parks, Vogel is located at the base of Blood Mountain in Chattahoochee National Forest (see entry in national forests section). Driving from the south, visitors pass through Neel Gap, a beautiful mountain pass near Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Many visitors come during the fall when the Blue Ridge Mountains are blanketed with red, yellow, and gold leaves. A segment of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail passes through the park (see entry in national trails section).
