Vibration Plate
Vibration Plate
a vibration machine designed for packing noncohesive soils and gravel-ballast road foundations. Depending on the means by which the plate moves, a distinction is made among manual, self-propelled, movable, trailer, and hinged vibration plates; and depending on the type of drive, among electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic plates, as well as those driven by an internal-combustion engine. Self-propelled vibration plates driven by an internal-combustion engine are the most widespread. The movement of a vibration plate is dependent on the horizontal component of the exciting force.
