Vladimir Bolotin
Bolotin, Vladimir Vasil’evich
Born Mar. 29, 1926, in Tambov. Soviet specialist in mechanical engineering. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1974). Member of the CPSU since 1954.
Bolotin graduated from the Moscow Institute of Railroad Transportation in 1948. He was named head of a subdepartment at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1958. From 1958 to 1964, Bolotin was also associated with the Institute of Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Bolotin’s principal works are devoted to the mechanics of deformable media.
Bolotin has been awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and various medals.
