Platt, Charles Adam

(1861–1933)American architect and landscape designer whose Italianate gardens were famous; architect of the Freer Gallery (1918), Washington, DC; designed the campus for the University of Illinois (1930), Champaign-Urbana, IL; Coolidge Auditorium, Library of Congress (1925), Washington, DC; and the Deerfield Academy (1932), Deerfield, CT. He published Italian Gardens in 1894.
