Size: 360 acres.
Established: Proclaimed on September 15, 1908.
Location:Main unit of the park is 45 miles south of Tucson and 19 miles north of Nogales, Arizona, at Exit 29 off I-19.
Facilities:Picnic area, rest rooms (é), visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail. Entrance fee required.
Activities:Hiking, guided tours.
Special Features:This historic Spanish Catholic mission building stands near the site first visited by Jesuit Father Kino in 1691. The park includes two other separate mission ruins sites -- Calabazas and Guevavi -- that are not yet open to the public. The primary site at Tumacácori includes a partially restored Franciscan church that is still used to celebrate special events. These missions are among more than 20 established in the Pimería Alta by Father Kino and other Jesuits, and later expanded upon by Franciscan missionaries.
