Qey-Kobad-Shah

Qey-Kobad-Shah

 

site of an ancient Bactrian city that existed from approximately the second century B.C. to the second or third century A.D.; located near the settlement Imeni Nasir Khisrav in Shaartuz Raion, Tadzhik SSR.

Remains of the city walls and towers have been preserved; rectangular in plan, the walls measure about 4 m thick and 6 m high. Excavations conducted between 1950 and 1953 have revealed rectangular chambers adjoining the city wall. Coins, Bactrian pottery, and terra-cotta statuettes have been found.
