simplex burner simplex burnerOne of the earliest atomizer type of burners to be used, it is a high-pressure fuel system of gas turbine engines. The fuel is forced through tangential holes in the atomizer into the swirl chamber before it sprays out of the orifice. The whole assembly is held together by the air shroud, which admits air through peripheral holes and blasts it over the face of the orifice. A simple gas turbine fuel burner is fed by a single pipe leading to a nozzle surrounded by air swirl vanes with the flow proportional to the square root of the supply pressure.
